age appropriate logistics The basis for a successful family trip starts with careful and detailed planning. Every aspect of a family trip has to work for both the kids and adults in the group and so even the logistics of a trip must be in keeping with the dynamics of a family group. These trips include not only kid friendly hotels but hotels that they’d actually enjoy. So in addition to fun stuff like a pool and tennis courts, properties might include such interesting amenities such as butterfly farms or even stables for especially active families who only retire to their rooms to sleep. Travel routes are kept as short in length as possible and the vehicles are always stocked with special refreshments, blankets, games and of course your good natured guide to make the trip smoother when a long drive can’t be avoided. Even a long drive or two isn’t so bad though as we often include interesting stops to chomp on real sugar cane, pick a coffee bean or two, watch a family of kinkajous cross the road or buy banana chips from a roadside stand. Even the activities we recommend on our family itineraries are also given special consideration. Every activity that we offer can be modified and enhanced to meet the needs of young children. Whether it is hiking through the scenic jungles, or rafting through the wildlife of the region, we can ensure that you will be comfortable and safe while experiencing the beauty of Costa Rica as a family. Extra safety support guides and vehicles can turn an otherwise seemingly daunting activity into an accessible and rewarding experience for the younger members of your group. Timing is everything and so we’ll also try not to include too many early mornings or late nights so that every member of the family can enjoy their trip to the fullest. |
